Antique Italian 18th century Giltwood Frame

A handsome giltwood 18th century architectural Italian frame. The interior trim of this exquisite frame is lined with a delicate pattern that contrasts against its simple beveled framework. The corners feature rosettes displayed upon risers whilst the highlight is the classical pediment which surmounts the frame and features a beautiful high-relief floral embellishment centered therein. Flanking foliates taper down the upper edges of the frame and the base is elegantly footed along with a central star motif centered along its outer edge.  Although small in stature, the eloquence of this frame boasts a singular monumentality. 

This frame descends from the country estate of an Italian television personality.  Details available upon request.

Condition commensurate with age. Minor scuffs, hairline cracks and slight chips to the gilding.
