A standing Venetian floor lamp, richly carved and handsomely painted. This turn-of-the-century lamp—shaped in the form of a Baroque candlestick—features a beautiful timeworn patina and an elegant tonal palette of creams, golds, and handsome blue hues. The column of the candlestick is centered with an alternating striped knop flanked by two lovely decorative elements featuring giltwood acanthi motifs in-relief. The tall base is tripod-form, scalloped along its outer edges and decorated along its sides with scrolling volute motifs. The overall manner and palette are indicative of the charm of Old-World Venice.
Condition: minor hairline splits and some nicks and losses to the polychrome. Requires rewiring.
