A rare matching pair of three-drawer Swedish Gustavian commodes with their original paint. The drawers each have two classic wooden knobs attached, flanking a central diamond-form iron lock plate. Especially characteristic of this pair is the lovely scalloped skirting along the base, emphasizing their rustic beauty. The feet are slightly tapered and compliment the austerity of their design.

Condition commensurate with age. Although retaining its original paint, the commodes have evidently been repainted over time, albeit retains a very rich antiquated patina. Overall stable and beautifully weathered.
